What’s in the pot? At Smoothe, we use stripless, hard wax to give you a more comfortable waxing service whether you are getting a Brazilian, eyebrow, lip, back, leg, or arm wax. What does this mean? Keep reading to learn more about the differences between hard and soft wax as well as the benefits of hard wax.
What Is Hard Wax?
The biggest difference between hard wax and soft wax is that hard wax is removed without a strip. Soft wax is applied to the skin with a strip. Once the wax hardens, it is firmly pulled from the skin taking the wax and hair with it. Hard wax is applied in a thick layer and once it hardens, it is removed. The wax is stripped off the skin and takes the hairs with it without sticking to the skin.
Benefits of Hard Wax
We believe the three biggest benefits of hard wax are:
- It is more comfortable. Hard wax is great for those that have sensitive skin. You only feel the actual removal of the hair. Hard wax can also be applied to the same area in the same waxing session. This takes away the need for tweezing.
- It adheres to the hair and not to the skin. As hard wax dries, it wraps itself around the hair. The wax only attaches to the hair and not your skin. This is one of the reasons it is easier to remove and not as painful.
- It does not distort hair follicles. Hair is removed from the root. When you are using soft wax, you have to make sure you pull the wax off in the same direction or it could distort the hair follicle. With hard wax, you can pull from any angle without the risk of damage.
At Smoothe, sanitation is our number one priority. We never double dip and gloves are worn during EVERY service. Ready to see the Smoothe difference?
